Mount Herzl - Burial Plot for the Leaders of the Nation | • The joint official memorial ceremony for Late Presidents and Prime Ministers of Israel will take place at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem on Tuesday, 1st of Nisan (5.4.11).
• Memorial ceremonies for each of the leaders who passed will take place on the anniversary of their passing, by the families. Once every ten years, each of the leaders will be honored with an official memorial ceremony, with the participation of the President of Israel and the Prime Minister, and this is in accordance with the Government Resolution dated November 27, 1988.
• The first anniversary of the passing of a prime minister or president will be honored with an official ceremony, in accordance with the decision of the Symbols and Ceremonies Committee dated May 2, 1993.
• The memorial ceremony of the first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, is an official ceremony every year, in accordance with Article 22 of the David Ben-Gurion Law.
• The memorial ceremony of Israel’s first President, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, is an official ceremony every year, in accordance with the decision of the Symbols and Ceremonies Committee dated June 23, 1985.
• The Council for the Commemoration of Israel’s Past Presidents and Prime Ministers is responsible for the relations with the commemorative foundations and organizations. You may approach us with any question or request in this area.
